Configure Mac Mail to store sent messages on the server

If you have a Mac device (such as a MacBook) and use the Mail app on it, it should be set to use IMAP to connect to our mail servers. However, typically the emails you send out will not being stored on the server, only on your device.

To change that behaviour, please try this:

  1. First you must select the “Sent” folder in the left side that is listed under the IMAP folders for the account.
  2. Next, click “Mailbox” from the menu bar. Go to “Use This Mailbox For” and in the box that opens up select “Sent”.

When you send an email from the Mail app on your Mac device, it will be saved to our servers - rather than stored locally - allowing other apps/devices to sync it.
